Norovirus outbreak suspected at Comox Valley Seniors Village, confirmed in Campbell River

COURTENAY, B.C- A nasty bug could be going around a senior’s home in the Comox Valley.

According to Island Health, tests are pending for a possible gastrointestinal or norovirus-like illness at the Comox Valley Seniors Village as of Tuesday. Outbreak restrictions have been put in place on the first floor of the facility.

Up in Campbell River, the Discovery Harbour Care Centre has had confirmed tests for a gastrointestinal or norovirus-like illness, with outbreak restrictions imposed for the entire facility.

The outbreak was announced on January 21st.

Island Health has said outbreaks are declared when three or more people have the virus.
