Husky gas station closed Tuesday afternoon after report of smoke

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – A report of smoke closed the Husky gas station on South Island Highway on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a tweet from the Campbell River Fire Rescue, crews responded to a report of smoke in the station’s electrical room. Husky Energy said in an emailed statement that the station attendant called the fire department as a precaution after they noticed a problem with the circuit breaker.

Fire department crews did not find a fire.

A report stated that the station was closed in the early afternoon. Husky Energy said the station re-opened around 7:45 last night.

No injuries were reported at the scene. Repairs are also finished, and the breaker has since been replaced, according to Husky Energy.
