On May 12, 2014, at approximately 10:45 am, Vulcan RCMP Detachment officers were dispatched to an elementary school in the hamlet of Brandt near Vulcan, Alberta to investigate what appear to be a parental abduction.

Officers were informed that the two sisters, Telisha and Taya MEISEL would have snuck out of school and met with their biological mother, Trina MEISEL, 48-year-old woman who does not have legal guardianship of the children.

Telisha MEISEL is 12 years old, long blond wavy hair and wearing a turquoise green sweater, a grey stripped t-shirt and blue jeans, and Taya MEISEL, 6 years old, also has long blond wavy hair and wearing prescription glasses. It is believe the mother and daughters would be travelling in a 2007 black Honda CRV, Alberta licence ORNRSE.
