City seeking public feedback on sea level rise adaptation options

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Sea levels are continuing to rise.

As such, the City of Campbell River is asking residents for input on how they think the city can best adapt to the rising water levels along the coast.

According to a release, city staff have developed conceptual adaptation options based on technical assessments of Campbell River’s marine and river shores. Now, they are looking for residents’ feedback on those options.

The public workshop will be on March 19th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will be held at the Maritime Heritage Centre.

Space is limited, and city staff are asking interested residents to register by emailing chloe.swabey@campbellriver.ca or calling 250-286-5796. Residents can also email their ideas, suggestions, and feedback to policy@campbellriver.ca. Residents can also call 250-286-5726.
