Gas leak shuts down Highway 19A for a few hours
The incident reportedly happened outside of Campbell River Collateral on Highway 19A, between Shopper's Row and 6th Ave.
CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – A gas leak along Highway 19A caused a shutdown of the route on Sunday.
Campbell River Fire Rescue and FortisBC crews were on site between Shopper’s Row and 6th Ave dealing with the leak.
According to reports, the leak outside Campbell River Collateral was due to a motor vehicle incident in the morning.
Highway 19A was re-opened around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, but was reduced to single alternating lane.
