North Island MLA criticizes new transportation plan

The NDP’s Transportation Critic says a new 10-year transportation plan unveiled by the province is seriously lacking.

BC on the Move includes 2.5 billion dollars to maintain and replace aging infrastructure, including $800 million dedicated to repairing highways, roads and bridges in the next three years.

North Island MLA Claire Trevena says that won’t go very far.

Trevena says the plan mentions many projects that have already been announced, and doesn’t commit to anything beyond three years from now.

And she says the province is once again ignoring the need to invest in BC Ferries.
