CAMPBELL RIVER, BC – Right on the heels of a cougar sighting at the Sportsplex comes a report of a monkey sighting.
Conservation officers were searching the green space between the Sportsplex and Rockland Road for a cougar.
Conservation officer Steve Petrovcic said on Friday morning they weren’t going to close the trail, but the RCMP cordoned it off by afternoon.
Officers still haven’t found the cougar. But there seems to be another animal in the area.
CTV Vancouver Island reports a taxi driver saw a monkey along Hilchey Road early on Friday morning.
The monkey hasn’t been seen again since then.
