City crews working along the highway are having to adapt construction plans.
Crews are now working to accommodate ground conditions near Rockland Road.
The City of Campbell River says in order to install new pipes in a suitable area, single-lane alternating traffic will be in place during working hours from 1st Avenue to Rockland Road.
That will be in place for the next four weeks from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Two lanes of traffic will return every evening and during the weekends.
The city says drivers should expect delays or find alternative routes coming into or out of Campbell River.
The city adds ongoing construction work won’t affect sewer service in the area.
