Destination Campbell River working to attract more visitors

Destination Campbell River has a plan to attract more visitors.

Together with members of the former Campbell River Tourism Promotion Society, the Destination Campbell River strengthening its regional efforts in marketing Campbell River.

Late last year, the association formerly operating as CRTPS began winding down their operations. Any search for the CRTPS site will direct people to a new organization website: www.campbellriver.travel.

The new site’s goal is to streamline information about Campbell River and activities to do in the city.

“This strengthens the online profile for Campbell River and ensures visitors have consistent access to information when searching for Campbell River tourism activities, events and accommodation,” Destination Campbell River executive director Kirsten Soder said.

The former tourism marketing association now works in conjunction with Destination Campbell River. Doubling the efforts means giving attention to year-round businesses and industries in the city so they can consistently attract visitors.

Mayor Andy Adams says this support and collaboration will help the city achieve its five-year tourism goals.
