Campbell River teachers president and Dist. 72 Superintendent speak out on job action

Picket lines are going to be set up at all of Campbell River’s 20 schools Monday May, 26th as part of the BC Teachers Federation’s rotating strikes.

The president of the Campbell River District Teachers Association says they did not come to the decision to start rotating strikes easily.

Elaine Thompson says they are still optimistic a deal can still be hammered out between the BC Teachers Federation and the province before Monday but says there are still many stumbling blocks.

In Campbell River schools will be open the rest of the week following the Monday strike. Up to date information about school closures will be available on the SD 72 website.
