Stage 3 water restrictions coming to the CVRD

Get ready for Stage 3 water restrictions.

They’re coming to the Comox Valley Water System. BC Hydro is going to be draining its penstock starting September 3rd for some planned maintenance. That means the CVRD is going to have to move to its emergency back-up pump station to draw water from the Puntledge River.

During Stage 3, residential lawn and garden watering with a sprinkler is not permitted at any time. Watering of trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetables on any day between the hours of 6:00am and 8:00am and 8:00pm to 10:00pm is permitted only if done by hand-held container, a hand-held hose equipped with an automatic shut-off nozzle, or by micro or drip irrigation.

The Stage 3 water restrictions will be in place until September 27th.
