Campbell River Golf & Country hosting fundraiser for Family Services

The Campbell River Family Services is a local non-profit that is dependent on government and various organizations’ funding.

Which is why community fundraisers are helpful too.

The Campbell River Golf & Country Club will be hosting a fundraiser to help the nonprofit. Tee Off With Hops: A Craft Beer & Golf Fundraiser is scheduled for September 21st.

Sarah Samson is an accountant for the charity, and she says the proceeds from Tee Off With Hops will go to supplement the important services they offer.

Samson says they offer a wide variety of programs, from services for children all the way to helping seniors.

“We have various types of family resource programs, programs for new moms or moms that are pregnant, teaching about nutrition, how to take care of children, and that sort of thing,” Samson said.

“We also have children and youth services, helping them with their development, children that have witnessed abuse, children who may have anxiety problems or social problems.”

And if parents want resources on how to help kids with special needs, the Campbell River Family Services is there too.

Tee Off With Hops starts off with an 18-hole tournament where participants will be able to sample beer from various craft breweries across the island. After the game, there will be a long drive contest where the winners will be announced.

A silent auction will also be in place throughout the tournament with over $2000 worth of local items and services offered.

The day will end with a barbecue dinner.

Tickets can be purchased online through the Campbell River Golf & Country Club site.
