Campbell River says the new traffic lights at the Willow Creek Road intersection are now operational.
The city says earlier this week, Willow Creek Road was opened to provide another way for people to get to and from the Maryland neighbourhood.
The city’s director of operations, Drew Hadfield says the lights were installed to improve safety in the area.
The city says the new route, the traffic signal, and intersection improvements at Willow Creek Road and Jubilee Parkway were required by both the province and the city.
It adds that the traffic light at Highway 19A and Maryland Road is currently under construction and is expected to be finished in October.
