Suspect in ‘multiple’ property crimes arrested, remains in custody

Campbell River RCMP has arrested a man suspected of multiple property-related offenses.

On Oct. 10th, officers took Gregg Pete into custody.

Members of the Campbell River RCMP Community Response Unit located a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of the South Island Highway.

This led to the arrest of a man in possession of the keys to the vehicle and a significant amount of powder believed to be methamphetamine.

The arrest led to a search warrant in the same area and the recovery of what Mounties are calling a “significant amount of stolen property being recovered.”

Pete was charged with multiple offences, including breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

He remains in custody until his next court appearance later this month.

“We are very pleased that we were able to apprehend this known property crime offender.” said CRU Cpl. Chad Murray.

“When we can remove an offender and drugs from the street it has an immediate impact (on) the public’s safety.”

Campbell River Residents are reminded that if they are the victims of a crime or have information related to a crime, call the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
