BC Ferries says both soldiers and seniors will sail for free tomorrow.
It’s also adding 24 sailings for the Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Swartz Bay (Victoria) route and two more for the Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) to Departure Bay (Nanaimo) route.
It says active, reserve and retired military personnel, as well as cadets, will receive free travel on its routes in honour of their service.
The free fare applies to passengers when they present Canadian military identification or if they are travelling in uniform.
BC Ferries says seniors will also be able to travel for free on Remembrance Day with the presentation of a BC Services Card, BC Driver’s License, BC Identification Card or Birth Certificate.
To honour and respect Canada’s fallen veterans, all Canadian flags onboard BC Ferries vessels will fly at half-mast and two minutes of silence will happen at 11:00am on the vessels and at terminals.
