Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive wraps up Saturday

The time to deliver a shoebox gift for Operation Christmas Child to the local collection centre is coming up.

Area coordinator Kara Walsh says that completed boxes can be dropped off at Comox Pentecostal Church at 1919 Guthrie Ave. on November 21st between 3:00pm and 6:00pm and on the 22nd, and 23rd between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

After that, the boxes will be packed up and shipped to the Operation Christmas Child processing centre in Calgary.

Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on way for Canadians to reach out to children in the developing world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and other items.

Last year families, businesses, churches, schools, and community groups in Comox Valley and Powell River contributed more than 1,700 shoeboxes to the 10,623,776 collected across Canada.
