The Artisan Craft Market in the Campbell River Art Gallery is giving shoppers the chance to get a head start on Christmas shopping.
The gallery has been transformed into a contemporary boutique with a large selection of items like glassware, pottery and textiles available for purchase.
“The market has been going on for a couple of decades,” said Operations Manager Alison Liebel. “Every year we get some handcrafted, beautiful items from local artists and regional artists.”
80 percent of the vendors are local artists who are masters at their craft.
“The Christmas season is a time when they can sell a good chunk of their work. We turn the whole gallery space into an opportunity for local artists to sell their wares,” Liebel said.
Money raised through sales helps to support education programs at the gallery.
The market opens today and runs until Dec. 24th with extended holiday hours from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Saturday.
