Comox Fire rescue donates SCBA system to Ships Point

Comox Fire Rescue has made the choice to pass on some of its now surplus, 16-year-old SCBA’s to The Ships Point Fire Department.

Comox recently purchased a new, state of the art self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and decided to give its old one to its neighbours.

Comox Fire Chief, Gord Schreiner says it’s great to see local departments helping each other out.

“It’s great to see us helping out our smaller neighbours while at the same time putting into service new equipment here for our firefighters. This new equipment brings our department up to the newest standards for SCBAs. It is also great to see the strong support we have from our Mayor and Council. This is a win/win for all involved.”
