Local woman collecting donations for family displaced by fire

A Campbell River resident is collecting donations to help a family who lost their home in a fire this past Thursday.

Firefighters responded to the Dec. 5th blaze at Quinsam Heights Mobile Home Park around 8:30 am.

It left significant damage to the property, with a total of four adults and one pet displaced as a result of the fire.

Family friend Alicia-Marie Warner came up with the idea to place a donation box at her work.

The Lordco employee wants to raise funds to help the family during this difficult time.

“We have major traffic flow through Lordco constantly, all day every day. I asked permission and I said why not. It seems to be working out so far,” Warner says.

During this season of giving, she added that it is important to get the word out about those who need help.

“We have gotten lots of donations of clothes and stuff for them. At this point, they need money to get back and restart their lives again. Anything to help them at this point is going to be enough because it’s close to the holidays.”

The donation box with a photo of the family attached can be found near the front cash register at Lordco’s 13th Ave. location.
