New advisory committee volunteers fill vacancies

Two new volunteers are joining city advisory committees.

At the same time, others are being re-appointed as terms end for some of the current members.

Council appointed William Wagner to the Community Planning Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending March 31, 2022.

This committee considers matters related to long-range and parks planning, Official Community Plan and Zoning bylaws, affordable housing, development issues and opportunities, public art, community wellbeing through sustainable neighbourhood development and downtown revitalization

Bruce Woytuik will join the Tourism Advisory Committee for a two-year term ending Dec. 31, 2021.

Three members of the Tourism Advisory Committee have been reappointed as representatives of the accommodation sector: Paul Dowler, Jonathan Shead and Bev Herperger.

“The City greatly appreciates the commitment and expertise of people who volunteer on City committees and provide their advice and recommendations,” said deputy city manager Ron Neufeld

“Advisory committee meetings are open to the public, and the City welcomes input from interested community members who would like to share information with or sit in on advisory committee meetings.”

There are no changes in membership for the Airport Advisory Committee, the Board of Variance, the Community Partnership Committee, the Environmental Advisory Committee, the Community Health and Public Safety Advisory Committee or the Youth Advisory Committee.
