Train Show returns to Campbell River this weekend

The 22nd annual Train Show is set to kick off at the Museum at Campbell River tomorrow.

North Island Model Railroaders Club is bringing model train displays back to the museum this weekend.

Miniature buildings, trains and scenery will be on display throughout the 1200 square foot gallery space.

Erika Anderson, promotions and membership coordinator with the Museum at Campbell River, says the show has been getting bigger year after year.

“Interestingly, it’s been growing,” Anderson says. “Two years ago was the biggest year it ever had in 20 years. It still attracts a lot of people and continues to grow, so we probably have 1200 to 1300 people this weekend.”

The Island Construction and Trucking Show (ICATS) will be demonstrating their radio controlled and battery-powered equipment in the front lobby, which includes excavators and front end loaders powered with full hydraulics.

The Train Show will take place tomorrow from 12 pm to 5 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Admission is $7 per person, $20 per family and children under 6 get in for free.
