UPDATE: The gas line has been repaired.
People, including traffic, are being asked to avoid the Highway 19A/Roberts’ Reach Rd area.
A gas line has been hit.
The Campbell River Fire Department received the call around 12:15 pm.
Crews from the fire department, Campbell River RCMP and FortisBC are currently on scene working to resolve this issue.
The leak appears to have been caused by an excavator digging into the ground.
