Over 2,000 pounds of food donated at Campbell River ‘Cram-A-Cruiser’ charity drive

The Campbell River RCMP is celebrating success.

This past Sunday’s ‘Cram-A-Cruiser’ charity drive at Save-On-Foods saw 2,157 pounds of food and $1,000 in donations collected for the Campbell River Food Bank Society.

The RCMP says the cruiser was filled multiple times, with the food bank also on-site providing a truck for overflow.

Cst. John Gray manned the cruiser for the day and was blown away by the support from the community.

“We had a great turn out and I had a chance to talk to many different community members and partners while functioning in a different role in the community,” Gray says. “I’d just like to thank the community and Save-On-Foods for making this a great event. Hopefully we can do something like this again in the future.”
