Campbell River’s NexStream competition finale being hosted virtually

Campbell River’s NexStream competition will be awarding its winners in a virtual fashion this year.

The annual global technology challenge invites individuals and businesses from around the world to come up with innovative solutions to industry challenges in the host city.

Campbell River Mayor Andy Adams says he looks forward to seeing some of the creative solutions being implemented in the community.

“The NexStream competition is a forward-thinking collaboration between the City’s economic development department and Campbell River Area Angel Group. It has helped establish Campbell River as a high-tech growth area, a community that welcomes and supports Innovation,” says Adams.

“We’re looking forward to hearing the results of the winners in each category – and potentially seeing these tech solutions implemented to assist with local industry challenges.”

Due to COVID-19, plans for the finale of the first round of the competition have transformed from an in-person demonstration and awards ceremony into a virtual event.

Of the original 40 participants, seven have made it to the finals which will be announced in that online presentation on Septemeber 9th at 10:00 am.
