Comox Valley woman facing charges after vehicle smashes into police cruiser

A Comox Valley woman is facing several charges after an attempted police stop ended with a car crashing into a ditch.

It happened on Sept. 1 when a Comox Valley RCMP officer was in Royston looking for a reported stolen vehicle.

The officer spotted it and tried to make a traffic stop. That’s when the suspect drove around the police vehicle and took off.

The officer ended up tracking down the vehicle for a second time, and this time, the driver sped up and smashed into the police cruiser.

The driver tried to evade police for a third time; however, this time the vehicle ended up backing up into a ditch and getting stuck.

The 45-year old woman has an upcoming court date.
