SRD’s Judy Hagen receives Public Safety Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award

The Strathcona Regional District’s emergency support services director for Quadra Island is being rewarded for her many years of service.

Judy Hagen is the recipient of the province’s Public Safety Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Our public safety volunteers are critical to the safety of our communities. Judy Hagen, who has demonstrated long-term commitment to this need over decades of volunteer work, deserves high praise for all she’s done,” SRD Board Chair Michele Babchuk said.

“Thank-you Judy for your hard work over so many years throughout B.C. – we are so glad that your contribution is being celebrated in this way.”

Hagen has held the position of ESS Director for Quadra Island since confounding the Emergency Program in 2006.

She also serves as a volunteer with the Quadra Island Fire Department and RCMP Speedwatch program and other local organizations.

Prior to coming to Quadra Island, Hagen was a key volunteer in Invermere, B.C. in Community Policing and Crime Prevention.

The Public Safety Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award is the top honour for public safety volunteers in BC.
