Cougar sighting in Campbell River

A cougar has been spotted on the bike path trail off Superior Dr. near Sandowne Elementary School, and the conservation service was unable to find the animal, Wednesday morning.

Conservation officer Gord Gudbranson says they want people in the area to stay alert and report any further sightings.

He has this suggestion for people in the area.

Gudbranson says they had the tracking dogs on scene and searched the brush right up to people’s homes but did not find the cougar.
He asks anyone who spots a cougar to call the conservation service at 1-877-952-7277.
