RCMP investigate multiple bear spray attacks in Campbell River

The Campbell River RCMP is investigating a string of bear spray attacks.

Constable Maury Tyre says police received multiple reports of people being bear sprayed Thursday, September 24th.

He says the first incident happened near Petersen and Willis Roads at around 8:00pm, which has led to one man’s arrest.

“Early indications are that the incidents may be interrelated, but it is too early to confirm that,” Tyre says. “Police investigations have been hampered by the willingness of the parties involved to fully cooperate with the investigation.”

If you have information about these attacks, get in touch with the Campbell River RCMP at (250) 286-6221.
