Comox Valley Sports Centre suspends physical activities

It’s game over, for now, for adult sports and programs at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.

Starting at 6:00pm tonight, all indoor group/adult physical activities will be suspended until further notice.

This comes as the Comox Valley Regional District follows recently imposed provincial health orders.

  • CVRD programs and rental sport groups to be suspended include:
  • CVRD led Aquacises – high/low intensity
  • CVRD led Shinny hockey
  • CVRD led Adult hockey programs
  • CVRD led Adult/Senior drop in pre-registered hockey times
  • Adult recreational hockey groups/rentals
  • Adult Ringette groups/rentals

These activities can be replaced with individual exercise such as length swims and public skating, which the district says allows everyone to maintain a safe physical distance of six feet.

You can also use the wellness centre, which will be limited to just a few people to ensure safe physical distancing and cleaning protocol in place while using our equipment.

Online reservation is required.

The district says children and youth structured physical activities and sports will be able to resume next week on Dec. 7th (including skate and swim lessons) with physical distancing measures in place.

Reservations are required for all available programs. To reserve your time, visit www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/registration

The Aquatic Centre remains closed until further notice.
