Air quality in Campbell River

Forest fire smoke continues to affect the air quality on the island.

The government of Canada issued air quality advisories for Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria as well as the east and Inland Vancouver Island.

Island Health spokesperson Suzanne Jermaine says the air quality could change quickly depending on where the fires are located and the direction of the wind. The key is to tract and monitor it on an ongoing basis.

Jermaine also says the elderly and youth with diabetes should take extra precautions.
