Campbell River Chamber hosting City Council all-candidates debate tonight

The Campbell River city council all-candidates debate is happening tonight.

Hosted by the Campbell River & District Chamber of Commerce, it’ll involve the eight candidates looking to fill the vacant seat at the council table.

The seat is open because former city councillor and current NDP MLA, Michele Babchuk, won the North Island riding during the past B.C. provincial election.

The debate will be streamed live starting at 7:00pm and is expected to last for about two hours.

You can find it on Tidemark Theatre’s FaceBook page

A recording of the debate will be made available tomorrow on the Chamber’s YouTube Channel, and will be aired on Shaw Spotlight Channel 4 on Thursday starting at 5:00pm, and in addition, airing randomly until the election.

There is no in-person audience. Candidates will be joining the moderator via ZOOM.

The byelection happens on Feb. 27th.
