86% of of BC teachers vote in favor of strike mandate

Campbell River teachers support the BC Teachers Federation bargaining team and gave them a strong strike mandate, that from Campbell River and District Teachers Association president Elaine Thompson, as the labor dispute between the teachers and the Province continues.
She says there are a few steps to go before teachers go on a full scale walk out.

Campbell River School District Superintendent Tom Longridge says local graduation and proms are going ahead as planned despite any strike action, and provincial exams will also be happening.

Longridge says the situation is very fluid and they are working to get the most up to date information to parents.

He adds they continue to hope for a fair resolution to the contract dispute between the province and the teacher’s union.
