Teachers move to full scale strike

The BC Teachers Federation has officially called a full-scale strike to start next week, but President, Jim Iker, is optimistic a deal is possible before then.
Public school teachers are set to walk out across the province on Tuesday, but classes won’t happen on Monday either. Iker says Monday will be a study session, where teachers will meet outside school to look over what he calls a “revised bargaining package.”
The BCTF and the Province plan to bargain over the weekend.

A decision is expected from the Labor Relations Board on whether teachers will have to administer and mark final exams, if a strike does go ahead.
