BC Ferries latest financial numbers show an increase in travelers and a better bottom line and as a result the company plans to offer some discounts come September.
Net earnings for the first quarter of this year, which started in April, are up around five million dollars compared to 2014.
CEO Mike Corrigan credits the increased traffic and higher sales in the gift shops and cafeterias.
Corrigan says starting September 8th they’ll offer a 50 per cent discount on passenger fares during some off-peak periods.

He says it will also work out to less for Experience Card users and Seniors.
The discounts will apply on major and minor routes until October 15.
