VIHA creates mandatory respect in sport workshop

The Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association is requiring parents finish an online respect in sport workshop by the end of October.

President Jim Humphrey says the workshop teaches people how to behave in or around organized sports, and the response has been positive so far.
Humphrey says the association also has new consequences to its code of conduct after several incidents last season.

The association is being firm about the deadline, it says if parents don’t have it done by October 31 their children will be pulled.
