Screen play Long Way Home written by Campbell River’s very own Emily Koopman won first place last week in Las Vegas.
Hard working Koopman says she was inspired at a young age by the film industry, and by her mother’s large library of books.
Her screen play was also a finalist at the 2015 California Women’s Film Festival, and an official selection at the 2015 Film Festival in Kentucky.
Koopman will now continue her career to California in March, and hopefully get a meeting with a manager, but she’s open to anything that comes her way.
