The Campbell River teachers representative says teachers walking the picket lines are not getting paid their salaries and the union is not able to pay them strike pay.
Elaine Thompson says they only had enough money to pay for three days of strike pay, but the strike about so much more than just pay. Though there is a complicating factor.
Thompson says they have suggested the donations go to the food bank as they are thinking some teachers might have to use the food bank.
She adds the BC Teachers’ Federation and the Government had face to face talks Wednesday at the bargaining table in Vancouver.
