In less than three months, the City of Campbell River staff will present a report with design options and costs to upgrade the Council Chambers.
Councilor Larry Samson says the design must incorporate universal standards to be usable by all people without the need for adaptation, such as washroom accessibility.
As well, for the design could include a modernization to the chambers with a wood first policy, technological changes such as paperless agendas, and expanding the gallery’s seating capacity.
The report will be presented during the November 23 council meeting.
