It’s a reminder for drivers to plan ahead and take it slow on the roads, especially with winter weather now in the mix.
At around 6:30 am today (Wednesday), Drive BC warned of water pooling on Highway 19A in Campbell River, from Catherwood Rd. all the way to Highway 19.
The weather condition alert came hours after a ‘vehicle incident’ left Highway 19A fully closed south of town, between Oyster Garden Rd. and York Rd.
Just after midnight, Drive BC tweeted that power lines were down across the stretch of road. However, about an hour later, the company said that the highway was ‘clear’ and had reopened in both directions.
CLEAR #BCHwy19A OPEN – Vehicle incident between Oyster Garden Road and York Road just south of #CampbellRiver on #VanIsle had the highway closed due to downed power lines has now been cleared.
