Some good news for those travelling north of Campbell River.
The Province of B.C. has launched a new camera on Highway 19 at Menzies Hill, approximately 24 km north of town.
Locals and anyone else travelling that stretch of highway will now be able to check on current road and weather conditions.
“I think it’s fantastic. North of town there, it’s always been a little bit problematic during the winter,” North Island MLA Babchuk tells My Campbell River Now.
“I just think it’s an extra layer of protection that we can add for the public,” she adds. “It’s great.”
On DriveBC.ca, dozens of highway cameras are scattered across Vancouver Island. DriveBC says images are updated every 15 to 30 minutes.
