The City of Campbell River is asking residents for feedback about possible changes to the city’s Official Community Plan.
The amendments would clarify and update the hazard conditions development permit area guidelines for steep slopes.
The city says the purpose of the proposed revisions is to improve safety, protect property and reduce the landslide risk.
“People in the community have told us that updates should focus on landslide risk and human safety,” said environmental specialist Terri Martin in a news release. “We had originally suggested including additional environmental considerations, but we will not be moving forward with those updates at this time.”
The possible changes will be discussed at a virtual session on March. 31 from 6:00 p.m. until
7:30 p.m.
