Comox Valley, Campbell River schools closed Friday due to snowfall warning

Schools in the Comox Valley and Campbell River have closed for the second time this week, because of a snowfall warning.

With significant snowfall expected throughout the day, both SD 71 and SD 72 are closing as preventative measures.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting another five to 10 centimetres to fall today, with highs and lows near or below freezing.

North Island College’s Comox Valley, Campbell River and Port Alberni campuses are also closed because of the weather.

SD 72 says the closures also include events or facility rentals. Anyone who has reserved space should contact their office for a refund, according to the district.
