Alaska earthquake – a reminder to be ready

An 8.0 magnitude earth quake off the coast of Alaska Monday afternoon meant local emergency coordinators were checking on tsunami warnings and trying to get information out to the public.

Howie Siemens the emergency program coordinator for the City of Campbell River says for the most part things ran smoothly.

Siemens says they were in touch with Emergency Management BC, and has some recommendations for locals.

Siemens says this is another reminder we live in an earthquake zone.
