Warming centre to open during cold temperatures, snowfall

With winter conditions including snow and sub-zero temperatures in the forecast, the Campbell River Community Centre will be used as a warming centre for the next two nights.

The Centre will open Monday at 10 p.m. and be available until Tuesday at 7 a.m. It will reopen Tuesday at 10 p.m. and be available until 7 am on Dec. 21.

The centre will be staffed by people with experience working with those experiencing homelessness, and funding will come from the City of Campbell River.

The city thanks the Coalition to End Homelessness and the many staff and volunteers who make the warming centre possible.
