New Vessels will add 11 sailings for Campbell River-Quadra Island Route

BC Ferries is adding 11 new sailings the Campbell River-Quadra Island Route thanks to the introduction of two Island Class vessels.

The Island Nagalis and Island K’ulut’a will also deliver more service at peak times and more capacity overall as sailings increase from 18 to 29 on January 18th.

One of the vessels will provide 18 hours of service, with the other operating during the busiest 12-hour period of the day.

Each terminal’s departure times will be close to what is in place today to support already-established travel patterns.

With the news coming shortly after recent crew shortages for the ferries, Deborah Marshall, Executive Director, Public Affairs says that they’ve hired more staff to provide service.
