RCMP looking for man involved with threatening an elderly couple

Quadra RCMP is on the lookout for a man involved with uttering threats towards an elderly couple.

They received a report on Thursday of the incident, where on Sunday, the couple was walking their dog in Rebecca Spit Park when a bigger dog came running towards them. As the bigger dog continued running, the man used his cane to hit it, keeping it away from them and their dog.

According to the report, the bigger dog’s owner then ran up and confronted the man for hitting his dog, before grabbing and pulling the man’s cane away, using it in a threatening manner. The confrontation ended with the cane being thrown away.

A few days later, the owner confronted the elderly man again in an SUV-type vehicle, saying that if he saw him again at the park, he would kill him. He drove away after uttering the threats.

He’s described to be caucasian, possibly in his mid 40’s, with a goatee. He’s also said to be well-groomed and well-dressed and drives a newer black SUV – possibly a Jeep Wrangler – in immaculate condition.

The dog is described to be white and brown, long-haired, and of an unknown breed.

If you or anyone you know has knowledge of these incidents or can identify the suspect, you’re asked to call Quadra RCMP at 250-285-3631.
