Some rain has the wildfire risk for the mid-islandĀ at low to moderate.
That said, the Coastal Fire Centre is warning people not to get complacent because the situation could change quickly.
The past few days have seen fires in the Saanich and Duncan areas, but Fire Information Officer Donna McPherson says so far, the number of fires this season below average.
McPherson says although conditions are drier than usual they don’t foresee a campfire ban heading into Canada Day.
