City moving forward after Area D referendum

People with homes in the northern part of Area D voted not to take up Campbell River’s offer and join the city in exchange for sewer service.

84% of the 699 people who voted in the referendum voted ‘no’.

Campbell River City Manager Andy Laidlaw says the definitive answer came out of a democratic process.

Laidlaw says the city budgeted $75,000 for the whole boundary extension proposal process, but says the project came in a bit under budget.

Laidlaw says they will be moving forward from here.
