Increase in water flow in the Campbell River

There will be more water down the Campbell River starting October 1.

BC Hydro spokesperson Stephen Watson says at this time of year, they are increasing the river water flows to help spawning salmon from about 30 cubic metres per second to about 90.

Watson adds this is a significant increase, so the public is advised to be careful.

Watson says this increase will fully cover the river and provide deeper water conditions for successful spawning.
