If you know someone who’s a good steward of the environment, nominate them for an award.
Campbell River’s 22nd annual Environmental Stewardship Awards are coming up this month, to recognize individuals who work to improve the environmental well-being of our community.
Individuals, groups, and businesses can be nominated in several categories, including urban agriculture, habitat protection, waste reduction, and overall environmental excellence. There is also a category for youth who have made an environmental difference.
Mayor Kermit Dahl says the awards are an opportunity to recognize Campbell River residents who generously contribute to conserving our natural areas and keeping our local environment healthy.
Nominations are open until September 12 the awards will be handed out at a ceremony September 24.
